I have been notified that apparently Fridays are now Red Flag Fridays. We as Canadians are supposed to wear red on Fridays in support of our troops. My Aunt was wearing a red twist tie around her wrist when I asked the inevitable why question. It was then she went on to inform me about this Red Flag Friday thing. Apparently the idea is that in weeks or in months many Canadians will be wearing red on Fridays, I can see it now - malls flooded with red shirts, hats and shoes.

It reminded me of the community I live in. We as Salvos in the Downtown Eastside and affiliated outposts and networks have what we call Tunic Tuesdays. This is were uniformed soldiers unite and wear their Salvation Army uniform at some point on Tuesdays. (Feel free to join in this). When soldiers walk in uniform in our community it sends a powerful message to our neighbors of who we are and we become somewhat more approachable. It would be great to in weeks or months Salvation Soldiers will be wearing uniform on Tuesdays, I can see it now - malls flooded with high collars, epaulets and black socks.

When I start soldiering again I will join in this Tunic Tuesday phenomenon. For now I will stick with the Red Fridays.

What is this?

This is a public urinal. These only show up at night. It is suposed to be some expiriment by the city of Victoria so that drunk guys dont pee on buildings after the bar when other bathrooms are closed or something.

Talk about werid....gross...indecent...naked...

On a completely different note.

Question?
Corporate worship. Is it a nessesity or a priviledge? Are we required as Christians to meet together and usher in the sweet presence of the King together? If we spend all our worship alone, with just you and Him, is that pleaseing enough?

Just something Im fiddling though.

-----------------

JESUS IS COMING SOON! HALLELUJAH.

But are we ready? Are we prepared for the coming of the King? Now is the time of preperation. Like a bride before the wedding, we must be ready and prepared for the coming of our groom. Make sure everything is in order, and that we havent missed any detail, big or small. Make sure you bring extra oil for the lamps, we dont want to be like the foolish virgins who miss His coming. The big day is near. Are our thoughts consumed by the excitement of His return. When I am really excited for something, or expecting something big - my mind doesnt wonder away from it - I am constinly focused and thinking about it, and anxious for it. Its got to be the same way with Jesus' return. Let us not stop thinking about it.

Come Lord Jesus Come.

I figured out the answer.

Worship.
The answer to how to get peace is to worship.

Come Lord Jesus Come
God is here.

Have you ever noticed a pattern in my blogging. I will give you an example - when my life is stressful I dont consistantly blog - kinda like these days.

Whats the cure for stress? Peace I reckon. When Jesus was on the boat with His disciples and the storm came and the 12 where freaking out. Stressing out - probably getting a coldsore or breaking out or something. Jesus, ya he was peacefully sleeping, a complete calm was in him and probably had skin smoother then a baby. So how do you stay calm in the storm. How do you walk in peace when you are stressed? I dont have answers, I think Im seeking them.

Peace, we are given great advice in Ephesians to put on the armour of God. This isnt just a simple, help aid. This is amazing advice that when we fail to agree to it, we alow ourselves to be open and volnerable to enemy attack. One important piece of armour are the shoes. The shoes of peace. Its what we walk on, our foundation. Thats why peace is so important, beucase without it our foundations are shakey, and we all know what happened to that house not built on rock.

My peace I leave with you.

Come Lord Jesus Come.
God is here.

Happy New Year.

What? You say...A week late? No, on the contrary. You see, my first week of 2007 has sucked! After talking to a friend about her week, which also has been lame, I decided why are we agreeing with this? Why are we saying "looks like I know what my years going to be like". So I thought lets have a New Years party! Ya the world says the New Year starts 00:00h January first. But friends, we are not of the world. I wasnt about to wait 358 days to start a new year fresh, I was going to do it right then and there. So last night a few friends and I had a New Years bash - declaring in the Spirit that this was going to be a year of favor, a year of freedom, a year of joy.

Come Lord Jesus Come.
God is here.

Oh Man! Heres a piece of advice...dont have a going away party with teens and Andy Mac. The result could be a shattered front window! Ladies and Gentlemen, due to unfortunate events of last night - there is no longer a front window (measuring 2 meters wide one meter tall) in my apartment. Andy Mac and Curt Smith were having a cracker war, one thing led to another and Curt was out the window. No worries, Curt, Andy and everyone else is totally okay, no blood. But there is a couple hundred dollar repair on our house! Oy Vay! God Bless you Andy! God is here.

This is a re-enacted what happened shot. Granted, it is actually nothing like what happened. There were no punches...lol.
This is our window after the event.
Heres all the glass.
