This weekend we have had the priviledge of recieving some wisdom and insight from none other then General Eva Burrows, retired international leader of the Salvation Army.
This afternoon she preached on the Holy Spirit.
She posed the thought...
"As a Christian you have the Holy Spirit, but does the Holy Spirit have you?"
She went on to teach that the Holy Spirit, unless has your all, unless you have surrenedered everything to Him, unless you die completely, the Holy Spirit does not have you. As a Christian you have the Holy Spirit, but He does not have you. This means we cannot live with the full power and the full calling He has destined for us.
Ouch. Did this one hit like a double edged sword right into my heart.
Its a shame really that my pride rejects me from surrendering everything.

it's true.
i was funny because after we prayed, i sort of felt all ready to give EVERYTHING, but then it was like, ok stand up- and i was like...pfft...no.
i need to let go of my insecurities...which i think are sort of a form of pride...dang pride!
Jesus, help me to give you everything that is in me. Shine a light on the dark parts of me that i need to give to you. show me how to be like you- full of holy spirit. that would be awesome! then when i prayed i would pray the fathers heart and things would happen...people would be healed, demons would flee, the world would be changed! god, make as a holy people that is sanctified and completely full of your spirit. stretched and filled until there couldnt possible be anymore- and then some more! you are an amazing God, please help me to be like you. amen.
