So Im speaking briefly on confession this weekend. (If you are from Chicago and you are reading this post - STOP and wait post youth councils)

Here's the thing with confession. Its a discipline, not an option. I used to be the queen of not confessing. Not a wise deciition, let me tell you. Keeping death hidden and undercover does not solve anything - just makes it worse. And as cliche as that sounds I can provide countless examples of this - ask me and Id be more then happy to provide (right confession is good for the soul). James tells us confession brings healing. And if confession brings healing then not confessing brings death. Jesus says the truth will set you free. Confession is the purest point of truth.

Also if we are not practicing confession then we are opening ourselves up to enemy attack. By not being vulnerable with eachother we leave ourselves vulnerable to enemy attack.

The Catholics get this discipline of Holy Confession- I dont know enough about it to write out now...but maybe Ill research it a bit and come back with some juicy details..haha.

Why don't we confess? Simple, we dont want to look 'bad'...or have others think of us differently. Well the solution to that is just as simple - obedience (which is just a more commonly accepted word for Holiness). If you are Holy then you have nothign to confess and if you have nothing to confess then you cant look bad.

So get Holy - if not - confess so you can be healed...just dont sit around in death.
